Joel Roher
Founder and CEO
From a family of renowned writers, journalists and scholars, Mr. Roher attended Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, studying drama. After apprenticing with WNED (PBS), Joel Roher then completed his education at The Cooper Union School for the Advancement of Art and Architecture in New York City. Returning to Toronto, he both taught school and worked as an art consultant.
Joel began his philanthropic efforts working with the destitute in downtown Toronto, at first as a volunteer and then as the founder of a food bank. With a team of associates, he delivers food and clothing to two detox centers, a summer camp for underprivileged children, a youth center, a children’s after school homework club, a seniors residence and to people in need, in and around his community. Mr. Roher also supplies food and clothing to two churches for their extensive outreach programs, as well as to seniors in rural areas outside of Toronto.
Throughout his philanthropic efforts, Joel realized the inherent ability for arts to heal and alleviate suffering. Utilizing his knowledge and love of classical and crossover music, dance and the arts, along with a passion to alleviate the suffering of those less fortunate, Joel Roher has gathered together a team of top-level professionals to help realize his vision of an international web portal and live concert event series known as “Save the Bees”.
