Neonics are climbing up the food chain!

Global activist group ‘Sum Of Us‘ has released a startling report indicating the lethal impact of neonicotinoid pesticides on birds. The dangerous chemicals, known to cause an increase in the rate of honey bee deaths, were found to increase the death of birds in several parts of the world.

So what does this mean? Neonicotinoids are not restricted to just insects in the food chain, but they are in fact moving up the chain! This points to the imminent threat these pesticides pose to higher members of the food chain. Without further research, there is no saying how much higher in fact they can really go.

Researchers are even suggesting that the neonics manufactured by big pharma group Bayer are more harmful than those of other companies. The German manufacturer has unsurprisingly brushed off these serious allegations, as it has done consistently in the past.

Previous petitions by Sum Of Us led to the successful removal of neonics from the shelves of American retailers Home Depot and Lowe’s. We at Save The Bees Concert now urge you to sign this new petition by our friends at Sum Of Us that will take the fight directly to the doors of Bayer itself, to bring an end to the aggressive production of neonicotinoids.

In the words of eminent environmentalist Robert Swan: “The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it.”
